| Customer Reviews: Reliable, Simple Design September 22, 2007 J H Murphy (Agoura, California USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this with an American Standard deep kitchen sink. The installation hit a snag in that the water fittings on this unit did not match my older faucet, so I had to get some adapters. (Note to do-it-yourself people: crawl under ths sink and determine your current fittings before you start looking for new faucets!)
Once I had those, installation was pretty straightforward, as kitchen faucets go, anyway. Since you are going to be working under the sink, (a) WEAR EYE PROTECTION, as Mr. Gravity seems to magically direct the falling detritus straight to your eyes, and (b) put a pillow at the cabinet ledge to preserve your back. It worked for me, anyway.
We've had this installed for about six months now and it has worked reliably for the entire time. The only thing I would note is that the spray control is easy to activate, but requires a minimum flow to stay engaged. A really soft, mild spray does not seem possible, although that's rarely needed and one learns to adjust the flow after a while.
Note that we have the White Heat version of this rather than the chrome.
This meets my expectations and is recommended. Four stars.
American standard white faucet July 24, 2007 T. Keeler 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the American Standard white faucet, which was not cheap, and it is two years old and all the paint is peeled off. It looks nasty!
Pretty faucet but very poor reliability and customer service April 14, 2009 D. Marchiando (California United States) A good-looking faucet I would not purchase again. I purchased this faucet 4 years ago in the so-called stainless-steel finish. I found out that it is not real stainless-steel after it started leaking internally, and the inside of the body corroded, such that the replaceable parts couldn't be removed. This faucet has life-time warranty for parts which sounds good at first. But there are no parts available at stores--you can only get them by calling A.S.'s 800 #. Their phone people are nice enough. And I have the correct model number that I cut out from the box. I have called them 4 times so far, and they have shipped me parts in a piece-meal fashion perhaps six times over the last 3 months, and I still don't have all the correct parts to repair the faucet. The pullout spray makes disassembling the faucet very difficult, which makes servicing it time-consuming and frustrating. I have a 20-old Delta, and two 40+ year old Moens that I haven't touched in years. Avoid this faucet or brand. The life-time warranty is of dubious value.
Don't buy it! The paint peeled off in 2 year! May 29, 2007 A. nakauchi (Minneapolis, MN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved the steel brash finish one over this white one, but we got the white one to match our white kitchen sink. Within 2 years, the paint of shaft started been peeled off, and by now (3 years and half since the installation) it's ugly as hell. I don't know what material American standard are using for such a wet heavy equipment. The paint should be tough as powder coted enamel.
The functionality is just fine.
shell crack August 9, 2008 Hai Thanh Nguyen After about 6 month, the skin broke a few places. Once in a few weeks, tiny black stuffs came out. It could be the faucet or not. But I check all other faucets in the house and none of them have this issue. So I Don't think it the pipes.
