Cutting Boards

For a safe and healthy kitchen you need three [tag]cutting boards[/tag]. One for poultry & meat, one for vegetables, and one for bread & cheese. Consider getting a cutting board set. Cutting boards are made from wood, plastic and glass, and are cutting edge-friendly in that order. Thick maple is best for chopping. Glass is only for show. Wooden cutting boards cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher because if made of glued laminate they may separate. Flexible cutting boards are indispensably convenient. You will need a few of them, and pick them up when you see them.
